Senior UX Lead

ING is looking to bring on a Senior UX designer, who is not only passionate about design itself, but is also an SME in the end-to-end user journey, and can create the best experience for all our customers. You will be a mentor for talented members of the team, collaborate with leaders of Product and Engineering teams to create innovative experiences across all of ING’s products. This role is focused on both strategy as well as implementation in the end to end delivery of consumer facing transactional & informational experiences.

What are you going to do?

  • Help lead UX work on large/complex digital initiatives through partnership with Product Owners & Business Stakeholders.
  • Design and manage research programs aimed at a surfacing underlying customer needs, and testing and validating concept designs.
  • Contribute to the direction and development of concepts, solution opportunities, and design rationale to team members and stakeholders, and turning these concepts and ideas into executable strategy.
  • Work with other seniors to create and establish standardised practices and systems within the design team, as well as Lead small teams of UX designs and product owners on specific initiatives.
  • Act as an advocate for user experience across the business, increasing engagement and business understanding of the value and benefits of this function, and effectively communicating research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rational.

What are we looking for? Someone who…


  • 3+ years’ experience working in a UX role
  • Strong working knowledge of information architecture, taskflow models, UI Specs, Design Specs, wireframing, prototyping and user-centred design principles
  • Responsible for mentoring other UX Designers and working across large scale UX projects
  • Technical experience across Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator or equivalent
  • Good understanding of UX experience designing for mobile/tablet devices
  • Good experience in the following technical skills: wireframing/prototyping tool with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Visio, Axure (or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience and proficient understanding of tools across web technologies and standards; HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Query, user layer
  • A bachelor’s degree in Design, IT or Arts (or equivalent)
